Village of Haverstraw honoring Rev. Raymond Caliman for Black History Month 2023

The Village of Haverstraw would like to honor

Rev. Raymond C. Caliman

for Black History Month, February 21, 2023

Rev. Raymond C. Caliman was born and raised in Rockland County.

After graduating from Nyack High School, he was active in the Army Reserve. He later attended the University of Delaware for Business Administration and was employed for thirty years as Service Manager for the Kurland Cadillac and Oldsmobile Dealership in Nanuet, NY.

He pursued his calling in the ministry and graduated from the New York Theological Seminary in New York City. He also graduated from the Manhattan Bible Institute in New York City. In 2020, Rev. Caliman received his doctor of Divinity degree from the Eastern Theological Seminary of Lynchburg, Virginia.

This is the 24th year as Pastor of Fairmount Baptist Church Haverstraw, NY. He is very grateful for how the congregation united to get the word of God out during the pandemic and inspired others to be encouraged. To keep praying, and not to give up hope, things would and will get better.

Rev. Caliman is active and involved in several projects and boards in the community. He is the President of the Rockland County Ministries Alliance founded by Rev. Dr. Weldon McWilliams, Jr.

Rev. Caliman feels blessed to be able to work beside those who also feel they can make a difference in the lives of others and strive to have better communities and a better world for future generations.

Rev. Caliman resides in Spring Valley, NY with his wife Linda of 63 years. They have two children Kim and Lance.
