PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Village of Haverstraw Village Trustees will hold a public hearing on the 17th of January 2023 at 7:00pm at Village of Haverstraw Municipal Building 40 New Main Street Haverstraw, New York, to receive oral and written comments from the Public on the Village application under the Restore New York Grant Program. Haverstraw is a diverse community looking to revitalize its waterfront and downtown through development of the Chair Factory Site, a critical component of the Village’s Comprehensive Plan. The Village purchased the site in 2007 and recently selected a development team lead by MPact Collective to redevelop the site. The development team is proposing a mixed-use, mixed-income, walkable development of will be market rate and mixed-income affordable housing, event and museum space, retail space and hotel space. The Village is seeking state assistance through the Restore NY program in the amount of $2,000,000 to support the cost of a public infrastructure including a new access road, a pedestrian waterfront boardwalk, walkways, and a promenade. The Chair Factory Site is a vacant parcel of land located along the Village waterfront.
