NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Haverstraw, New York will hold a Public Hearing on the 18th day of December 2023 at Village Hall, 40 New Main Street, Haverstraw, NY 10927, beginning at 7:15 PM, or as soon thereafter as can be heard, to review a proposal by Homeland Towers, LLC to construct a wireless telecommunications facility, including a 120 ft monopole painted brown with a +/- 2,400 square foot multicarrier equipment compound at the base thereof (“Facility”) at property owned by the Village of Haverstraw identified as 120 Dowd Street, Haverstraw, NY 10927 (“Property”) and also designated as Section 26.50 Block 1 Lot 8.6 on the Tax Map. The facility is needed to address significant gaps in Verizon Wireless’s service in this area of the Village, and will provide collocation space for additional wireless carriers as well as municipal emergency communications equipment.
The Board of Trustees will be considering the following actions on December 18, 2023: (1) SEQRA determination; and (2) conducting a Monroe Balancing Test to determine whether the Facility should be exempt from the Village’s zoning code.
Anyone interested in making comments on the proposed Facility or the Village’s approval of same may attend and address their comments to the Board of Trustees at the meeting. A copy of the file may be obtained from the Village Clerk.
