A message from NYS Senator, James Skoufis:
“Dear Neighbor,
As most of you know, the NYS Legislature passed a series of new housing and tenant protection laws, which safeguards tenants from unjust living conditions. It is my belief that these laws empower tenants while protecting the rights of responsible landlords.
On Wednesday November 6th at 6:30pm I am hosting a Renter’s Rights: Know Your Rights Informational Panel at the Quisqueya Sports Club 25 Broadway, Haverstraw, NY 10927. My goal is to strengthen the relationship between tenants, landlords, and enforcement agencies by ensuring that everyone is aware of their rights and responsibilities.
We will hear about the changes in the law from a Rockland Legal Aid Society housing issues specialist and will learn about your rights as a utility customer from the Public Utilities Law Project (PULP). PULP is a nonprofit organization that has been advocating for universal service, affordability, and customer protection for New York State utility consumers.
I hope to see you there! If you have any questions please feel free to contact my office at 845.786.6710 or skoufis@nysenate.gov.
Sincerely,
James Skoufis
Senator, 39th District”
