Court Schedule:

• First & Third Wednesdays – 5:00 p.m.
• Every 2nd Thursday – 3:00 p.m.
• Summary Proceedings/Landlord-Tenant issues are scheduled for the 2nd and 3rd Thursdays of the month.

The Village Justice is elected for a four-year term.  The Associate Village Justice is an appointed position.  They are assisted by the Chief Court Clerk, Esther White and Associate Court Clerk, Toni Jones.  The Justice Court has a general jurisdiction over criminal, civil and vehicle/traffic within the Village.

Civil jurisdiction is limited to matters up to $3000.00. Jurisdiction is based upon the Plaintiff or Defendant living, working, or maintaining a place of business in the Village of Haverstraw and the other party may be served in the County of Rockland.

There is a Civil/Small Claims part of the Court with jurisdiction up to $3,000.00.  However, jurisdiction is based upon the Defendant living, working or maintaining a place of business in the Village of Haverstraw.
