About the Parks & Recreation Department

The Village of Haverstraw offers gorgeous park and recreational space for families, friends, and events. We invite residents and visitors to enjoy the outdoors with community events such as yoga, art festivals, and movie nights. Relax from the hustle and bustle of Downtown Haverstraw and play some ball or watch the sunset from our parks and recreational space in the Village of Haverstraw.

Rental spaces for events are available. Please contact the Village Clerk for permits and pricing at (845) 429-0300.

Park Hours: Sunrise to Sunset

Emeline Park

Emeline Park sits in the southern point of Haverstraw and offers sweeping views of the Hudson River. Within the park, residents and visitors are able to enjoy gazebo space, playgrounds, and walking trails alongside the river. Emeline Park is considered a favorite spot in Rockland County to catch an impressive sunset or sunrise.


African American  & The Rose Nelson Memorial Park

Alongside the Hudson River, Jefferson Park offers play area for children that include playgrounds, ball fields, and basketball courts.


Dutchtown Park

Located in historic Dutchtown Haverstraw, Dutchtown Park provides lush trees with walking paths and play areas for the children.


Haverstraw – Nyack Path

The path begins in Dutchtown and extends into the Nyack Beach State Park.  If you are in the mood for a walk with your dogs or going on a hiking walk with friends and family.  You will not be disappointed with the scenery along the Hudson River.


Manny Lopez Municipal Ball Field

Play Ball at the Village of Haverstraw’s Manny Lopez Municipal Ball Field. The Manny Lopez Ball Field hosts recreational baseball and softball teams, travel teams, school teams, tournaments, and the Haverstraw Little League. The ballpark was named in memory after Haverstraw resident, Army Corporal Manny Lopez.


Greenway Trail

Bike, Run, Walk the Village’s greenway trail runs from the entrance of Bowline Point Park in “Little Italy” or Warren Court to Broad Street.
